MONTANA SKI REPORT

March 31 2025

Montana is gearing up for significant snowfall over the next five days, with areas near Badger Pass and Mount Lockhart expected to see up to 24 inches. Nearby, Whitefish Mountain Resort, just west of Badger Pass, should benefit from this incoming snow. Big Sky Resort, adjacent to sensors at Lone Mountain and Lower Twin, is also expected to receive 12–14 inches, with 5 inches falling in the last 24 hours. Monument Peak reported a staggering 127 inches in 24 hours—likely an error—but even conservative estimates indicate heavy accumulation, reinforcing strong totals in the Beartooth and Absaroka ranges, proximate to Red Lodge Mountain and Bridger Bowl.

Today’s new snowfall highlights include Basin Creek (13"), Brackett Creek (5"), and Boulder Mountain (4")—locations near Bridger Bowl, Discovery Ski Area, and Big Sky. Crystal Lake and Stringer Creek, close to Showdown Montana near White Sulphur Springs, forecast 14–19 inches this week. Areas in southwest Montana such as Tepee Creek and Carrot Basin are also seeing fresh snow, bolstering conditions at West Yellowstone and Big Sky. Overall, the heaviest snow is concentrated in central and southwest Montana, ideal for skiers at Big Sky, Bridger Bowl, and Showdown. With snowpack depths over 100" reported at Noisy Basin and Hoodoo Basin, high-altitude terrain is well primed for excellent conditions through the weekend.
